Lee Segui is investigating reports that some consumers who ordered delivery through Wendy’s website or mobile app may have paid higher menu prices than consumers ordering the same items for pickup.
In addition to delivery-related charges, some customers have reported that the price of the food itself increased when delivery was selected.
We are gathering information to better understand how these pricing practices may have affected consumers.
When ordering delivery, consumers generally expect to pay delivery fees, service charges, and applicable taxes.
However, if the same menu items are priced differently depending on whether a customer selects delivery or pickup, consumers may not fully understand the total cost of their purchase or how those additional costs are being assessed.
Our investigation is focused on understanding these pricing practices and their impact on consumers.
