About Erin | Partner & Co-Chair, Consumer Protection

Marketing claims shape how consumers make decisions. Erin Ruben represents consumers nationwide in cases involving false advertising, mislabeling, and deceptive trade practices.

Erin’s practice focuses on how products and services are marketed to consumers, ensuring that marketing claims are truthful, transparent, and backed by evidence. Her work has placed particular emphasis on products marketed to women and children, where labeling and safety representations carry significant weight.

In 2020, Erin served as class counsel in Dickens v. Thinx, Inc., the first class action in the United States to allege deceptive marketing related to PFAS in consumer products. Since then, she has litigated numerous cases involving PFAS, benzene, and other dangerous chemicals in beauty, personal care, and household goods, contributing to changes in manufacturing practices and increased transparency in labeling.

Erin earned her undergraduate degree in marketing from the University of Georgia and her law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. She was recently recognized with the Premier Class Action Lawyer of Tomorrow award.

Outside of work, Erin enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, and their dog. She also enjoys attending live performances, exploring art and interior design, and cooking, often inspired by Ina Garten.
