Lee Segui, together with Meyers & Flowers, LLC, and Sugarman and Sugarman, P.C. has filed a class action lawsuit against Schylling, Inc. concerning certain NeeDoh sensory toys. The complaint alleges that the products contain a design and materials defect that can cause them to rupture and release their filling during intended and reasonably foreseeable use.
NeeDoh products are squeezable sensory toys marketed for children and adults. According to the complaint, the products at issue use a flexible outer shell containing a soft filling made from materials including polyvinyl alcohol or maltose.
The lawsuit alleges that certain NeeDoh products can rupture, leak, or burst, releasing a thick, sticky filling. The complaint further alleges that the filling can cause skin irritation and, when exposed to heat, may remain hot enough to cause burns. The filing describes reported incidents involving children and adults and alleges that Schylling knew or should have known of the potential risks.
The complaint also points to Schylling’s representations that NeeDoh products are safe and non-toxic and alleges that consumers were not adequately warned about the potential for rupture or the consequences of exposure to the filling.
Plaintiffs seek to represent consumers who purchased certain NeeDoh products. The lawsuit raises claims concerning alleged product defects, inadequate warnings, warranties, and consumer protection laws.
Lee Segui attorneys Harper T. Segui, Erin Ruben, and Thomas Pacheco represent the plaintiffs and proposed classes alongside attorneys from Meyers & Flowers and Sugarman and Sugarman.
The case was filed September 2, 2026, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
The allegations have not been proven, and the case is at an early stage.
