All Six Lee Segui Partners Recognized in 2027 Lawdragon 500 Leading Litigators in America

Matt Lee: partner and co-chair of Lee Segui’s Employment & Civil Rights practice. Matt is a nationally recognized and highly regarded trial lawyer. For almost 20 years, Matt has focused his law practice on fighting for people in high-stakes litigation against some of the largest corporations in the world, recovering hundreds of millions of dollars for his clients over the years. Matt has served in leadership roles in litigation nationwide, including as co-lead counsel in the AME Church Employee Retirement Plan Litigation with settlements totaling more than $106 million to date. Matt has tried several complex cases to a jury verdict as lead trial counsel, including a $11.1 million jury verdict against IBM in a wrongful termination and retaliation case. Matt has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America, North Carolina Super Lawyers, including the Top 100 Lawyers in North Carolina, Top 25 Lawyers in Raleigh, 2026 LawDragon 500 Leading Civil Rights & Plaintiff Employment Lawyers Guide and Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite, including the 2026 edition.

Harper T. Segui: partner and co-chair of Lee Segui’s Consumer Protection practice. Harper represents consumers nationwide in complex class actions involving defective, mislabeled, and falsely advertised products, and has been appointed by courts across the country to serve as Co-Lead Counsel, Settlement Class Counsel, and on Plaintiffs’ Steering Committees in multidistrict litigation. Her work has contributed to multimillion-dollar and nine-figure resolutions involving cookware, appliances, personal care products, construction materials, and other consumer goods. Representative matters include a resolution in the Sharp microwave litigation estimated at more than $100 million in value, a Whirlpool dishwasher settlement estimated to provide $15.7 million to $21.3 million in benefits, a $12.5 million Allura fiber-cement siding settlement, the $4 million Thinx cash fund with additional funds available for valid claims, and the Knix settlement providing up to $2 million in monetary relief. Harper also served as Settlement Class Counsel in the $1.5 million HALO BassiNest Flex settlement announced in 2026. She has been repeatedly recognized by Super Lawyers and is active in national organizations focused on class actions, consumer protection, and legal education.

Erin Ruben:  partner and co-chair of Lee Segui’s Consumer Protection practice. Erin served as settlement class counsel in the landmark case Dickens v. Thinx, Inc., No. 1:22-cv-04286 (S.D.N.Y.), the first class action in the United States to allege deceptive marketing practices stemming from the presence of  per- and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) substances in consumer products, where she secured a $5 million nationwide settlement. Erin has gone on to litigate numerous other class actions involving the presence of toxic chemicals in women’s beauty and personal care products which have resulted in more than $10 million in recovery on behalf of consumers, in addition to bringing about significant changes to dangerous manufacturing practices. In addition to her mislabeling practice, Erin is experienced in litigating product defect claims, with a particular focus on defective baby products and household appliances, including serving as settlement class counsel in the $1.5 million HALO BassiNest Flex settlement announced in 2026. Her practice regularly requires close analysis of scientific evidence, product testing, labeling, and consumer-facing representations. Erin was recently recognized as a Premier Class Action Lawyer of Tomorrow. She was also selected to serve on Law360’s 2026 Product Liability Editorial Advisory Board.

Mark Sigmon: managing partner at Lee Segui whose practice focuses on appellate litigation, employment law, class actions, civil rights, and consumer protection. He has represented clients before the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the First, Second, Third, Fourth, Seventh, Ninth Circuits, and Eleventh Circuits, and state appellate courts around the country. His work includes briefing dispositive motions, class certification, and appeals in complex litigation, including in the AME Church Employee Retirement Plan Litigation and in more than 30 cases across the country involving IBM’s sales commission practices.

In 2026, Mark received the National Civil Justice Institute’s Appellate Advocacy Award for his successful defense of class certification before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in Lytle v. Nutramax Laboratories, Inc. He has also received Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent rating, the organization’s highest peer rating for legal ability and ethical standards, and he has been recognized by North Carolina Super Lawyers, including in that publication’s list of the Top 100 Lawyers in North Carolina, and as one of Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite.

Pat Wallace: partner and chair of Lee Segui’s Mass Torts practice. Pat leads complex litigation involving class actions, mass torts, and other high-stakes disputes. Over more than a decade, Pat has litigated complex matters from investigation through trial, settlement, and appeal, including nationwide class actions and multidistrict litigation. He currently serves on the Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee and as co-chair of the Science and Experts Committee in the Camp Lejeune Water Contamination litigation, serves as class counsel to a certified class of correctional officers pursuing unpaid wage claims against the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction, and serves as interim co-lead class counsel in an action seeking to return unlawful IEEPA tariff refunds from Nike. He has secured nearly $200 million in recoveries, including a $107.4 million class settlement involving in-game consumer transactions, over $25 million in class settlements for a series of unlawful eviction-fee cases, a $36 million class settlement in a multidistrict litigation matter concerning defective flooring that was successfully defended on appeal, a separate $14 million defective flooring class settlement, and a $10.35 million class settlement involving a power outage on two North Carolina islands. Pat currently serves on the Board of Governors of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. He previously served as its past president of the New Lawyers Division. Pat has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America and North Carolina Super Lawyers.

Jeremy Williams: partner and co-chair of Lee Segui’s Employment & Civil Rights practice. Since 2014, he has represented employees and consumers in litigation involving employment discrimination, wage and commission disputes, ERISA violations, Title IX disputes, consumer protection, and various other class actions. His recent work includes leadership roles in litigation that has resulted in more than $106 million in settlements involving the AME Church retirement plan, a $100 million class settlement involving deceptive prescription drug pricing, and a $11.1 million jury verdict against IBM in a wrongful termination and retaliation case He also serves as co-chair of the Collective and Class Action Section of the National Employment Lawyers Association and recently served as the Chair of the Products Liability, Class Action, and Mass Torts Section of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice  Jeremy has also been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America, Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite, North Carolina Super Lawyers Rising Stars (2018–2027).
